Nights Out

The choice of night-time entertainment in Bath is forever increasing with a mix of pubs, bars and clubs, an exciting theatre and film culture, as well as a vibrant live music and comedy scene. Throughout the year there is also an exciting programme of major festivals and events in Bath.

Theatres in Bath offer a wide selection of performances to cater for all tastes. The main theatre in Bath is the Theatre Royal offering a year round programme of top-quality drama, opera, comedy, dance and frequent Sunday concerts. The Ustinov Theatre offers a more cutting edge programme of performances in Bath. For children, young people and their families there is the Egg Theatre. The Institute of Contemporary Interdisciplinary Arts also runs a regular programme of contemporary performances, exhibitions, talks, films, theatre and dance as well as music. Just outside of the city centre, the Michael Tippett Centre and University Theatre at Bath Spa University hosts a busy schedule of public concerts including musical theatre, contemporary dance and comedy.

Why not spend a relaxing evening at one of the two cinemas in Bath. Our favourite, The Little Theatre Cinema is the only remaining independent cinema in Bath.

If you are looking for something more unusual join Bizarre Bath, a nightly tour of Bath with a comic twist. Or laugh the night away at Komedia’s Krater Comedy Club every Saturday night. Komedia is a new live entertainment venue in Bath offering a mixed programme of cabaret, music and comedy seven days a week. Don’t forget to make a date in your diary for the Bath Comedy Festival, which takes place in the spring.

Bath’s exciting live music scene includes regular sessions, day and night, at many of the pubs and bars featuring a range of music where you will be spoilt for choice from electronica to Irish folk. Komedia is a new live entertainment venue with one of the largest, most diverse entertainment programmes in the UK. The Chapel Arts Centre is a performing arts venue with a range of events including music, theatre, dance and film. If you’re a keen jazz fan, the Green Park Brasserie and Bar is not to be missed, with four evenings of live jazz every week. You can also listen to the sound of jazz while enjoying a cool beer and fresh food at Gascoyne Place where there’s live music every Sunday evening.

From traditional pubs serving the best of British ale to contemporary gastro pubs, you are sure to find the perfect place to spend the evening in the city centre or in the surrounding areas of Bath.

Bath has a wide mix of contemporary, modern and buzzing bars. Splash out on cocktails in OPA or Circo, or catch up with friends and have a relaxing drink in Gascoyne PlaceBelushi’s or Central Bar.

Party late into the night at one of the many nightclubs in Bath. Dance until the early morning at OPA or hang out with the student population at Po na na or Second Bridge. Alternatively, experience one of the regular club nights at Komedia.
